How to Make 2 Fun Fold Easter Cards

July 4, 2023 5 min read

Here are some ways to make fun fold Easter Cards. The first is the Flippin’ Bunny. It uses cute designer series paper and the Easter Bunny set by Stampin’ Up! And the second Easter card is more three-dimensional (3D). There are video tutorials for each card, but they are separate links, see below:

Flippin’ Bunny Easter Card Measurements

I hope you love this flippin’ bunny fun fold Easter card as much as I do! And it really isn’t that hard to make! I especially like how I thought of placing the bunny on the strip so it would flip back and forth between the pink gingham and the stamped image. The measurements are below and scroll to the bottom for the supply list. You can watch the full video tutorial on how to make it here: https://youtu.be/WTdfQTjoBpc

Thick Basic White card base (one 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch piece of cardstock) is scored and folded in half vertically at the 4 1/4 inch mark. Then the front piece is folded in half again (to the left towards the spine) at 2 3/4 inches.

The white strip Basic White layer is 11 inches long by “about 1/2 inches wide”. Note I just measured the width again and it is more like 5/8 inches. But you can make this wider if you want more space around the stamped images, or if you want to stamp the sprig of flowers right on this strip. (I chose to stamp the sprig of flowers on a separate piece of white cardstock and then fussy cut it. I like how the fussy cut image extends past the white strip.)

The larger floral designer series paper (DSP) is exactly 3 1/8 by 4 inches.

The skinnier floral DSP was 4 x 2 1/2 inches before using the scalloped die to trim it. The pink DSP with white hearts is about 4 x 3/4 inches and is glued under the scalloped floral DSP. After they are glued together, the pieces together are 4 x 2 1/2 inches.

3D Easter Card Measurements

This is a different kind of fun fold card from the Flippin’ Bunny card. I love the colorful cut-out Easter eggs and Easter bunnies! You definitely need the paper snips to easily cut out all the details – which makes this card stand out (literally even!) In the video I show a simple, very forgiving watercolor technique using ink pads. Watch the video here: https://youtu.be/aP4sLHHDKes

The Easter Bunny set and matching punch is from the 2023 Spring Mini Catalog… It is a classic you can use for years to come. The card will lie flat to send in an envelope. Scroll to the bottom for the supply list.

It is easier to watch the video than just go by the measurements below, but here they are:

The card base is one 8 1/2 x 5 1/2 inch piece of cardstock) is scored and folded in half at the 4 1/4 inch mark.

Then open it up and put it on your paper trimmer so the 5 1/2 inch side is on top. In the middle (at the 2 3/4 inch mark going across, you will make a score line down, but not from top to bottom. Start the score line at 1 1/4 inches from the top, and score until you get down to the 6 1/8 mark.)

Now turn the card base a quarter turn clockwise in the trimmer. At the following points (from left to right) cut from the middle score line to the bottom of the paper: 1 1/4 inches, 2 inches, 3 1/8 inches, 4 1/14 inches, and 6 1/8 inches.

Go back to the original score line and now cut it.

You will also need a 1/2 sheet of Basic White cardstock (or scraps) to stamp and cut out the stamps you use from the Easter Bunny stamp set.

Optional: Polished pink cardstock to layer behind your sentiment layer (maybe about 3 x inches before cutting it down to size).
